Google Calendar Integration

Connecting Google Calendar gives MeetingCost read-only access to your upcoming events. It uses these events to calculate projected costs based on meeting duration and your current participant roster rates.

How to connect Google Calendar

  1. 1
Open the Calendar panel in the PRO dashboard Click Calendar in the left sidebar.
  2. 2
Click "Sync Google Calendar" A Google OAuth popup appears. Sign in with your Google account and grant MeetingCost read-only calendar access.
  3. 3
Upcoming meetings appear with cost projections Events from the next 7 days appear with projected cost, duration, and attendee count. Projections are based on your current hourly rate settings.
🔐
Privacy: Calendar data is processed locally in your browser. Event titles, times, and attendee counts are never sent to MeetingCost servers. OAuth tokens are managed by Chrome's identity APIs and stored only in your browser. See Security & Privacy for full details.

Outlook Calendar Integration

MeetingCost also supports Outlook and Microsoft Teams calendar events via the Microsoft Graph API. This covers both personal Outlook accounts and Microsoft 365 work accounts.

How to connect Outlook Calendar

  1. 1
Click "Sync Outlook Calendar" In the Calendar panel, click the Sync Outlook Calendar button.
  2. 2
Sign in with your Microsoft account A Microsoft login popup appears. Sign in with your Outlook or Microsoft 365 account and grant calendar read access.
  3. 3
Outlook events appear alongside Google events If both calendars are connected, events from both are merged into a single upcoming meetings view with combined cost projections.

Projected Meeting Costs

The Calendar panel shows upcoming meetings in a list with these details for each:

FieldDescription
Meeting titleEvent title from your calendar.
Date & timeScheduled start time.
DurationScheduled duration from the calendar event.
Projected costEstimated cost based on duration × your current total hourly rate. This is an estimate — actual cost depends on who attends.
This week / Next week totalsSummed projected costs for the current and following week, giving a forward-looking budget view.

Yearly Cost Forecast

Below the upcoming meetings list, MeetingCost calculates a yearly forecast by projecting your current meeting patterns forward. This shows estimated total meeting cost for the rest of the calendar year based on your historical meeting frequency and average cost. The forecast updates each time you sync your calendar.

Disconnecting a Calendar

To disconnect Google Calendar, go to Calendar → click Disconnect Google Calendar. To revoke access entirely, visit myaccount.google.com/permissions and remove MeetingCost.

To disconnect Outlook, click Disconnect Outlook in the Calendar panel. This clears your Outlook OAuth tokens from local storage.
