The Free Version

After installing from the Chrome Web Store, MeetingCost works immediately with no setup required beyond adding participants. Here's what the free version includes:

โฑ๏ธ
Live Cost Ticker
A real-time dollar counter overlays your meeting window, showing the total cost as the meeting runs. Works on Google Meet, Zoom, Microsoft Teams, and Webex.
๐Ÿ‘ฅ
Participant Roster
Add participants with their hourly rates. The cost ticker multiplies everyone's rate by time elapsed to give the true cost of the room.
๐Ÿ’ฑ
Multi-Currency
Choose from 50+ currencies. All costs display in your selected currency throughout the extension.
๐Ÿ“‹
Meeting Templates
Save participant configurations for recurring meetings. Load your standup, all-hands, or client call roster with one click.

Setting Up the Live Ticker

  1. 1
Click the MeetingCost icon in your Chrome toolbar This opens the popup. If you don't see it, click the puzzle piece icon and find MeetingCost, then pin it.
  2. 2
Add participants In the Participants section, click + Add. Enter a name and their hourly rate. Repeat for each person in the meeting. You can also set an Overhead Multiplier (e.g. 1.35ร—) to account for benefits and taxes on top of base salary.
  3. 3
Choose your currency Select your preferred currency from the dropdown. This applies everywhere โ€” the ticker, popup, and dashboard all use the same currency.
  4. 4
Join your meeting Navigate to Google Meet, Zoom, Teams, or Webex. The live cost overlay appears automatically once the meeting is detected. You'll see the running total and cost per minute updating in real time.
  5. 5
Configure the overlay position In the popup under Overlay Display, choose where the ticker appears on screen โ€” top-left, top-right, bottom-left, or bottom-right. You can also minimise it to a small badge if it's in the way.
๐Ÿ’ก
Roster Persistence: Under Settings, you can choose whether the participant list is saved between meetings, cleared automatically, or whether MeetingCost asks you each time. Useful if you run the same standup every day.

The 1-Hour PRO Trial

The PRO trial gives you 1 hour of full PRO access โ€” every feature unlocked, no payment or account required. The trial timer only counts down while you're actively using the extension (opening the popup or dashboard). It pauses when the extension is idle.

How to start the trial

  1. 1
Open the MeetingCost popup Click the extension icon in your Chrome toolbar.
  2. 2
Click "Try PRO Free" This button appears prominently in the popup when no PRO license is active. Clicking it starts your 1-hour trial immediately.
  3. 3
Explore PRO features The PRO dashboard becomes accessible from the popup. Click Open Dashboard to explore Analytics, AI Insights, Cost Trends, Recurring Patterns, Calendar, and all other PRO sections.
  4. 4
Trial ends โ€” data is preserved When your trial hour is used up, PRO features lock again but all your meeting history and settings are preserved. Upgrading to PRO restores full access instantly.
โฑ๏ธ
Trial time is usage-based: The 1 hour counts only while you're actively using the extension โ€” not while it's running in the background. Closing the popup and dashboard pauses the timer.
